Character Information: "I don't even work at it. I just am."

Personality: Lucas Friar is seen in school as Mr. Perfect. He's won the scholar athlete award, he remains loyal to his friends, he hasn't gotten into a fight in years... Not an extreme one, at least. His life seems perfect, and he makes a point to make it seem that way to everyone. However, he's also a 15 year old boy who got expelled from his last school in Texas for getting into a fight. Granted, it's been greatly alluded to by Zay Babinaeux "I did it again!" that it was to protect a friend, but at that same time it was greatly alluded to that he could have potentially put a kid in the hospital. "You'll be the one on the floor, and I'll be walkin' away" in that same episode.

However, Lucas has been seen at least attempting to use it as a flaw of some sort. In Girl Meets Mr. Squirrels, he even goes about stating "You think it's easy being me?!" To a resounding 'Shut up!' from his classmates and friends before taking a seat with them on the ground. His being seen as Mr. Perfect has confused people as to why he would be friends, let alone best friends, with the likes of Farkle Minkus.

He has a seemingly carefree attitude about everything. The show has gone so far as to show he has received the Yearbook title of "Most Likely to be Alright with Anything". When being asked how he felt about the superlative, he began to say he was alright with it before realizing that was, in fact, more mocking than it sounded. "I'm okay with it- Ohhhh..." In that same episode it showed us that he is, in fact, not comfortable with extreme changes in his friends. Farkle first pulling a complete 180, Riley following shortly after, and then Maya to try and help things. By the end of the episode, when Maya and Riley are back to normal, he begins to accept Farkle, asking for what the new rules are and being told to let him be who he is and accept it. He agreed to that.

In that same episode when Maya had taken to try and fix things by acting as Riley, he had proven one major flaw he has. Not quite understanding when to shut up. For the sake of this, I'll call it Foot-in-mouth-itis. He tells Maya that she has a great life! "... Well... Not really a great home life... But you're here a lot!" Not exactly something you want to share with a girl who has admitted her biggest flaw is that she is "Broken".

At the same time as being dumb with his foot-in-mouth-itis, Lucas has been shown to take absolutely none of Maya's antagonizing him. He had bottled it up fairly well, not throwing any stones back at her for the longest time. She had even asked if there was any way to get through and crack him being essentially told 'No but keep trying. Sorry I'm not going for your obviously placed bait!' But he did eventually say something that caused a rift in the group, even if the primary focus was on Riley and Maya themselves. Being called Ranger Rick one too many times, he had fired back with calling her a short stack of pancakes.

One extra thing is that while not necessarily actively showing it all throughout the series, Lucas has gotten jealous of other boys showing their affection to Riley. The clearest example in the shows history being the semi-formal in season 2. She had been asked to the dance by someone else and he had confronted said boy after she had declined and essentially fled the scene. The two had a stand off explaining their stories. How Lucas and Riley kind of have an unofficial relationship. And how if that were the case he still should have asked being sent back. Granted, at the end of the episode it was revealed they managed to become friends, but the dance turned into friends dance with friends because Disney sitcom.

While Lucas, especially since he has been in New York, seems all too perfect for anything, there is the protective nature he has which sometimes gets a bit too out of control. Leading to fights, almost fights, stand offs, and property damage. In that order during his life. That is what we call, in the show, Texas Lucas. And he is what happens if anyone messes with his friends.

Texas Lucas gets his own little section at the end, as we have seen more than enough to see exactly what causes his temper to spike into such a situation. In three specific episodes, so far, we see exactly what he is capable of when he loses his temper for whatever reason. Though it isn't until the final example we actively see his strength. In Girl Meets Flaws, after learning someone he viewed as a friend and teammate was bullying Farkle, as stated before, he had actively pushed the kid against the wall and held him there for questioning. That was simply something that could be marked down as how Billy had gone too far.

In Girl Meets the Secret of Life, he shows a bit more actively just what his temper is capable of showing. The entirety of the episode showing him being ashamed of how he behaved under certain situations, such as beating a kids ass down to an unknown bad level. However, Zay calling him out of class to save him - once again - causes him to get up and leave the room saying he hopefully wouldn't come back expelled. He chooses the high road, pinning the bully to the locker and giving what could just be an empty threat of what he could do with strength he has before choosing the highest road possible and backing away.

Finally, we see the biggest snap to Texas Lucas he has had yet in Girl Meets Rileytown, when Farkle has him tied to the counter of the bakery with towels. Upon being told Riley was having bully troubles he had almost a minute of shock before proving his strength and ripping not just the towel bars but wood from the counter itself. Proving 'Strong as a horse' was not a bluff. It was even something expected by the girls as well with Maya stating she wasn't sure Lucas would be the same.

Of course, still continuing on the Rileytown route, his first stop wasn't Riley's to get information about who it was. It was Riley's to, once again, show he can tear down a wall of 'stuff' the girls set up assuming it would hold him back, and he proves to be far more concerned for her than anything else. His friends happiness and, in a sense safety, being the top priority. He was a bit hurt by not being told immediately, but after seeing a boy you really like turn to shoving and holding someone against a locker twice, not to mention learning something like this caused him to get expelled, would you want him to know immediately?
